23rd Jan Softball Finals PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 25 January 2010

For the 12 girls that were on SRC’s softball field, the game meant much as we played for Gold. The meeting time was set at 7am, that would not prove too early for our girls that day.

Despite having been through 4 matches, it was easier said than difficult to keep our restlessness down. We were batting first and our team had definitely placed their batting skills to proper use.

We managed to score well within our first inning, as Jia Ling, our very first batter, had gave us a good start to the game, securing a good hit that landed her on the 2nd base.

In the second inning, subsequent good hits which secured our batters two bases also included Amanda Yee and Junxin. The game tension was kept constantly high even when we took our fielding positions. Tze Hao, Wai Lun and Qixun, who took turns to base coach us, always manage to put us in the right places with their guidance. At least 3 fly balls were successfully secured by us, including catches by Jinzhen and Huixin.

Our spirits were kept high till the very last minute in the last inning, although hall 15’s hits proved to be challenging as we had to deal with hits far and beyond. We did not win eventually, but we played one of our best. We fought hard and were enjoying the game up till the very last minute. We were happy nevertheless, and to quote Amanda Yee, “Even though we didn't get the champion title, I still think we won the most this IH!” For now, please do await Team Se7en’s softball girls’ return for IHG 10/11! We’ll definitely be back for more!
